Choosing your EMS duty boots
Between BLACKHAWK and ROTHCO, the tactical boot market is pretty much cornered. That's not to say that there aren't any other good boot brands out there; it's just, you're looking for EMS work boots...not tactical boots, right? So how do you know what to choose? There seems to be so little difference...
Thing is, there really isn't any difference. It truly depends on what you find more comfortable.
If you want ankle support, you'll want to combat-style EMS work boots. If you hate having your shin chaffed, you'll want the shorter, hiking-style EMS work boots. See where I'm going with this? It really is all about you.
The Best EMS Work Boots: Magnum
A lot of people prefer, as I mentioned, Blackhawk or Rothco--but personally, for EMS, I think they are a bit much. They can be heavy and awkward--not to mention incredibly stiff and hot.
My top pick for EMS duty boots are the Magnum Response II
With an 8" shaft, laces and an easy-on zipper, these high-traction, slip-resistant EMS work boots won't disappoint.
As an added bonus, they are a combination of leather an nylon, so they offer an element of comfort and a wide range of movement, while retaining durability.
